Week 6: St. Catherine's and St. Joseph's - Wednesday

Today was food bank day, and it was an amazing adventure. The day started off with going to adoration at church at Sacred Heart. It was a great beginning to spreading God's message throughout the day. At the food bank we served  98 families and gave out food, toys, and school supplies. It was so inspiring to see how thankful everyone was to us and their acceptance for allowing our help. It warmed our hearts to see how many lives we were able to reach out and help. I got the responsibility to carry food to people's cars, to be in charge of the tortilla station, make pencil pouches, and to serve God and the families. Agape gave me the opportunity to give back to the community that has given so much.

Today we went to adoration, and mass. When I first walked in I was in awe to see the gorgeous church the walls and pews where painted in color. For the stain glass was shining it's amazing light, and colors. when you looked at the stain glass all you could see was Jesus' kind smiling face stairing down on his childern (you), with four angles staring in awe. The colors where of every color soronding the main pice. When the priest came in the crowd blew up in psalm, sing praise to our lord Jesus christ. After mass we headed over to the food bank area to set up. When we arived we saw the egar faces of the crowd waiting for school suplise. The children glowing with joy when they saw us arrive. After an two and a half hors of prepareing for happy families we opened the line for them. They rushed in with happy and excited faces. Each person at every stand greted them with a kind loving smile. Each person leaving with abright face. In the school suplies and  toy sectiuon where I worked. The children in line where so excited to be getting a back pack. As soon as we begun children streamed in each with a smile. every person working there welcomed them with a kind and loving smile. Every child  came with a grin but left with athe most joyful smile that youd ever seen warming your heart. After the the food bank closed we all left with much more than when we came . We left with nothing in our hands but in our hearts.
